Getting started

What is AI LANDGRAB?

A territory defense survival game you play in the browser. Ants land on the field and claim it cell by cell; you stop them with taps. Every kill lays eggs and burns its cell, so every kill is a decision.

How to Play →
Is AI LANDGRAB free?

Yes, completely. Every mode, every troop and every Outpost upgrade is earned by playing. There are no ads, no purchases, no energy timers and no paid advantages. Premium cosmetic packs are shown in the cosmetics screen but are not available to buy.

Do I need an account to play?

No. Open the game and play as a guest. Claim a username when you want official records that follow you to other devices.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. The game is built for touch screens first and also plays with a mouse and keyboard on desktop.

How do I start a game?

Open ailandgrab.si and press CLASSIC SURVIVAL, or pick SIEGE, OUTPOST or the Daily Challenge from the menu or the navigation bar. The first time, a short how-to explains the basics, and your first SIEGE mission has a field guide.

Gameplay

Why do ants multiply when I kill them?

That is the core rule: a destroyed ant lays eggs where it fell, 2 for a normal ant and 3 for a splitter, and they hatch after 10 to 15 seconds. Tap them first and the colony shrinks. Kills still help, because each one frees claimed land around it, which slows the colony down. Kill where it frees the most land.

How to Play →
What is Brood Break?

Destroy 8 eggs or nests by hand within 20 seconds and for 15 seconds your kills lay no eggs and the colony breeds at 50%. Then it rests for 45 seconds. Turrets, mines and creatures never count toward it.

How to Play →
What do the Anteater and the Egg Eater do?

They are friendly creatures you release with Tactical Energy (keys 4 and 5). The Anteater (1500) walks to adult ants and eats up to 8, one every 1.5 seconds, but never a Fat Ant, a golden ant or an ant on burned ground. The Egg Eater (750, two at a time) eats up to 12 eggs, the ones closest to hatching first. Neither earns points, energy or combo steps.

How to Play →
Why can't I kill ants on burned cells?

Every kill burns the cell it happened on, and an ant standing on a burned cell can't be destroyed by a tap. Wait until it steps onto unburned ground, or restore the burned cell.

How to Play →
Can burned cells be restored?

Yes. In Classic and Daily, Ash Reclamation restores burned cells on big kills by itself, and CLEANSE restores a share of all burned land at once whenever you press it.

How to Play →
How does Ash Reclamation work?

A kill whose shockwave frees at least 6 claimed cells, at least 4 of them not freed in the last 12 seconds, is a strategic kill. It also restores the oldest burned cell the colony held inside the blast, if that cell burned at least 5 seconds ago. At most once every 3 seconds, and only for your own taps.

How to Play →
How do I charge CLEANSE?

With your own kills. Each one adds 2 Reclamation Energy, plus 4 for every fresh colony cell it frees (up to 40) and 10 more for a strategic kill. A Fat Ant adds 20 and a golden ant 10. Every 1250 makes a charge. Turret and mine kills, and the ants a Fat Ant removes, add nothing.

How to Play →
What does CLEANSE do?

One press restores 60% of all burned cells on the board, rounded up and spread across the whole map. There is nothing to aim and nothing to confirm. Claimed cells stay claimed, and it earns no points by itself. The next one is ready 10 seconds later, and there is no limit per run. With no burned land it shows NO BURNED LAND and keeps its charge. Press R or click CLEANSE on desktop, or tap it on a phone.

How to Play →
What are Turrets, Freeze Towers and Shock Mines?

Tactical powers you place during Classic and Daily runs. Auto Turret (450 energy): Fires at ants on unburned ground within 5 tiles, diggers first, for 45 s or 8 shots. Its kills still split ants and burn cells, and never charge CLEANSE. It leaves the Fat Ant to you. Freeze Tower (450 energy): For 15 s, ants within 5 tiles walk at 60% speed and claim land 2× slower. Fields don't stack. Kills nothing. Shock Mine (300 energy): Arms in 1.5 s, then destroys the first ant that steps on it and frees claimed land up to 3 tiles away. One mine, one kill. It ignores the Fat Ant.

How to Play →
How do I get Tactical Energy?

Only with your own taps. You start with 500 and get 75 for each ant you destroy, 25 for each egg and 40 for each nest, up to 3000. Nothing comes from time, and kills by turrets, mines and creatures earn none. Pick a power or creature (or press 1 to 5) and tap the land to place it; Esc cancels.

How to Play →
Do Outpost upgrades make Classic easier?

No. Classic and Daily are the same for everyone: every player starts with the same energy and the same powers. Outpost upgrades only affect SIEGE.

What is the Fat Ant?

A huge, slow special ant. Only one is on the land at a time, it doesn't dig, and it leaves after 12 seconds. Destroy it by hand (it is easier to hit, but not while it stands on a burned cell) and its shockwave removes 75% of all the other ants. In Classic the first one comes at 2:30, once 40 ants are alive. In SIEGE it marches on your core instead, and destroying it gives you a Fat Core to detonate when you choose.

How to Play →
Does destroying a Fat Ant really eliminate 25% of the swarm?

Yes. It removes exactly 25% of the other ants on the field, rounded up, counted from the game's real population (swarms included), not from what is drawn on your screen. Golden ants ride it out. The removed ants don't split, burn cells, score points or extend combos. In SIEGE a Fat Core removes 25% of the regular ants on the field when you detonate it, at most once per wave.

How to Play →
Why do golden ants disappear?

Golden ants are a limited chance: each one flees the field 8 seconds after it lands (sooner in some Daily Challenges). Catch it for 250 points and a wide shockwave.

How to Play →
How do I survive longer?

Kill where shockwaves free the most claimed land, don't feed the swarm with needless kills, use strategic kills to restore ash and charge CLEANSE, and use each Fat Ant to thin a big swarm.

Strategy tips →
Why did my game end?

In Classic Survival the run ends when the colony holds 60% of the land. Daily Challenges have their own end conditions: a clock, a target, cores or zones. A SIEGE mission ends when you win the last wave, your core runs out of health, or you retreat between waves. The results screen tells you which one ended it.

Game modes

Which modes can I play?

Classic Survival (fast, taps only), SIEGE (command troops against ten waves, with a campaign and a Weekly Challenge) and the Daily Challenge. The OUTPOST is your persistent base that connects them.

How the game fits together →
What happens to old Defense and FORK scores?

Defense Mode and FORK//DEFENSE have been retired and can't be played any more, and their boards are no longer shown. Nothing was deleted: every verified run is kept, result links and replays keep working, and their badges stay owned, marked Legacy.

Retired modes →
Will my previous badges remain?

Yes. Every badge you've earned stays on your profile, including OG and Creator badges, referral badges and skins, and the badges from the retired modes (shown as Legacy).

How do Daily Challenges work?

Each UTC day has one challenge from seven archetypes: 60-Second Siege, Golden Hunt, Burned Earth, Swarm Strike, Guard the Core, Combo Contract and Territory Lockdown. Each has its own mission and its own ranking, shown before you play.

How to Play →
Does everyone get the same Daily Challenge?

Yes. Every player gets the same mission, the same starting field and the same ants on the same UTC day, so the daily board is a fair comparison.

Can I replay a Daily Challenge?

Yes, as often as you like that day. The board keeps your best attempt.

SIEGE

What is SIEGE?

A tactical defense mode where you command your own troops. The colony attacks your Outpost core in 10 waves along routes from its nests; you deploy defenders, they fight on their own, and you decide where they stand, when to rank them up and when to call the next wave. There are five campaign missions and a Weekly Challenge.

How to Play →
How do I deploy troops?

Pick a troop in the tray at the bottom (or press 1 to 6), then tap a free tile on the field. Troops cost Command Points: you start a mission with 150 and earn more for every kill and every wave you clear. Tap a placed troop to rank it up, move it or recall it.

How to Play →
How do I unlock more troops?

You start with the Guardian and the Ranger. Win First Contact for the Engineer, Broken Frontier for the Frostkeeper and Swarm Valley for the Artillery; the Medic joins when you win Scorched Territory or raise the Training Grounds to level 3. All six: Guardian, Ranger, Engineer, Frostkeeper, Artillery, Medic.

Your defenders →
How do I upgrade my defenders?

Two ways. During a mission, spend Command Points to rank a troop up (up to rank 2, or 3 with the Training Grounds). Between missions, spend Supplies in your Outpost's Workshop to train each troop up to level 5, which raises its health and power in every campaign mission.

How to Play →
Are troop upgrades permanent?

Outpost upgrades are: troop levels, buildings and research stay on your account for good. In-mission ranks last only for that mission.

Can I play SIEGE as a guest?

Yes. Guests can play First Contact, the first campaign mission with its field guide, and the Weekly Challenge. The rest of the campaign and the Outpost need a free username, so your troops and progress are saved. Your recent guest SIEGE results join the account when you claim one.

Outpost & progress

What is the Outpost?

Your persistent home base: a Command Center, a Supply Depot, Training Grounds, a Workshop and a Research Lab. Upgrade them with Supplies to train troops, unlock research and open later missions. The buildings visibly grow as you upgrade them.

How to Play →
Does the Outpost earn resources while I'm offline?

Yes. The Supply Depot makes Supplies while you're away (12 an hour at level 1, 48 at level 5) until it's full. Open the Outpost and press COLLECT.

How to Play →
How many hours of offline production can I collect?

Up to 8 hours, and never more than the depot can store (60 at level 1, 380 at level 5). The server counts the time with its own clock.

Do I need to log in every day?

No. Nothing you've earned ever resets or decays, there are no streaks to lose, and objectives you miss simply make way for new ones. The depot just stops filling when it's full.

Can I progress without waiting?

Yes. Playing is the fastest way to progress: a single SIEGE victory pays more than a full depot, and new troops and missions are unlocked by winning, not by time.

How do I earn Supplies?

From verified play: Classic runs (up to 40), the Daily Challenge (30 for taking part, 40 more for completing it), SIEGE waves and mission victories, the Weekly Challenge, daily and weekly objectives, and your depot. Repeated runs of the same thing on one day pay less, so variety pays best.

How to Play →
How does XP work?

XP comes from verified play and raises your account level (level 2 at 100 XP, level 5 at 700). It isn't spent. Your level opens higher Command Center upgrades, and with them later missions.

How to Play →
Do upgrades affect Classic leaderboards?

No. Classic Survival and Daily Challenges are the same for everyone: Outpost upgrades, XP and Supplies never change their ants, rules or scores. Upgrades only apply to SIEGE campaign missions; the SIEGE Weekly Challenge gives everyone the same troops.

How to Play →
What are daily and weekly objectives?

Each UTC day brings 3 short objectives (+60 Supplies each) and each week 3 bigger ones (+250). They count verified play across Classic, Daily, SIEGE and the Outpost. Claim them in the Outpost; each pays once.

Accounts

How do I claim a username?

Press Claim username in the menu, choose a name, enter your email (and a password if you like), then confirm from the email we send you.

Is my username permanent?

It stays yours, and you can change it once every 30 days. Your previous usernames stay reserved for you, so old profile links keep working.

Can I change my profile ant?

Yes. Equip any ant skin you have unlocked from your account. Your profile shows the equipped one.

Can I play as a guest?

Yes. Guests can play Classic, the Daily Challenge, First Contact and the Weekly Challenge and post scores under a nickname. Guest records stay in that browser; the Outpost and the full campaign need a free username.

Can I play on another device?

Yes. Sign in with your username and everything is there: your Outpost, Supplies, XP, troops, campaign, objectives, official personal bests, cosmetics and badges all live on the server, not in the browser.

What happens if I change browsers?

Sign in and your official records are there. As a guest, records stay in the old browser. Runs a browser played as a guest can join your account when you sign in there.

How can I reset my password?

Use Forgot password on the log in screen. We email a link to the address on your account.

How do I delete my account?

Open your account, go to Settings and choose Delete account. We email a confirmation link; the account is deleted only after you confirm. Your leaderboard runs remain as anonymous Former player entries.

Leaderboards

How are scores verified?

The server replays every submitted run from the recorded taps and accepts it only if it reproduces exactly.

Why are scores separated by game mode?

Each mode plays differently, so each has its own board: one permanent Classic board, one Daily board per UTC date and one SIEGE Weekly board per week.

Do leaderboards reset when the rules change?

No. Each mode has one permanent board. Balance changes and rules updates join the same board, and your personal best stays on it.

What happened to scores from much older versions?

Runs from the oldest rules, before the permanent boards began, are archived. They are kept in full, their result links keep working, and they are not mixed into today's boards.

How to Play →
Can guests appear on the leaderboard?

Yes. Guests post under a nickname. Guest names aren't protected; claim a username to make your scores unmistakably yours.

Why does each player appear only once?

Each board lists one entry per player, their best eligible run. Guests are counted per browser.

Can I share my verified result?

Yes. The results screen has SHARE RESULT, and every verified run has its own result page with a share image.

Referrals & rewards

How do I invite friends?

Claim a username, then open Invite friends in the menu to get your personal invite link.

How to Play →
When does an invitation count?

When your friend claims a username through your link and finishes a verified run of at least 45 seconds with at least 10 actions. Clicks alone never count.

How do I unlock exclusive ant skins?

Qualified friends unlock them: 2 friends, Scout Ant; 5 friends, Neon Runner; 10 friends, Royal Guard; 25 friends, Specter Ant; 50 friends, Colony Emperor.

How to Play →
Do ant skins make me stronger?

No. Skins and every other cosmetic change only how things look.

What are badges?

Awards on your profile for verified achievements: scores, gameplay mastery, qualified invitations and Beat My Score wins. You can showcase up to three.

What is the OG badge?

It belongs to the first 100 verified username claims, numbered in claim order. A deleted account's number is retired, never handed out again.

How many OG badges exist?

One hundred, ever. The claim screen shows how many places are still open.

What does the Creator badge mean?

It marks the account of the person who made AI LANDGRAB.

How does Beat My Score work?

After a verified run, CHALLENGE A FRIEND creates a link to the same field. Your friend plays it (no account needed), the server verifies the attempt, and a winner can challenge back. Attempts stay off the official leaderboards.

Technical & support

Is AI LANDGRAB multiplayer?

Each run is single player. You compete through shared leaderboards, Daily Challenges and Beat My Score links.

Can I play on mobile?

Yes, in any modern mobile browser. Nothing to install.

Why is my score submission taking time?

The server replays your whole run before accepting it. That usually takes a moment; long runs take a little longer.

What if the leaderboard is temporarily unavailable?

You can keep playing. Runs are saved on your device, and the menu tells you when the leaderboard is unavailable.
